Fence line Monitoring and Intrusion Detection

US Sensor Systems Inc., has developed the USSI Multi-zone, Real-time, Perimeter Monitoring and Security Systems to protect our Country’s Border, and high-risk facilities and critical infrastructures such as Nuclear Power Plants, Military Bases, Chemical and Oil refineries, pipelines, tank farms, etc.

The USSI system uses a revolutionary, all-in-one fiber optic cable to monitor the surrounding environment. A single optical fiber cable is housed within a tough, damage resistant cable which is designed to be buried around a perimeter to be monitored or a fence line, and can run up to 25 km long.

Anywhere along its length, the USSI system can automatically detect, classify and alarm upon noise or vibration happening in the vicinity of the cable, including tampering, intrusion, digging, operating machinery/vehicles and many other events.

The small, low cost, ultra-reliable all-fiber optic sensing cable replaces more expensive, bulky, electronic sensors used in conventional systems. Every inch of the fiber cable is acoustically sensitive, ensuring that there are no gaps in coverage, as a single cable can include hundreds of discrete detections zones, each from tens to hundreds of feet long.
